N Seoul Tower is a 236.7m tower atop Namsan (243m) in the heart of Seoul, built as a broadcast tower in 1969 and opened to the public in 1980. With the mountain's height added, the observatory puts you at one of the highest vantage points over the city.
The most popular route is the Namsan cable car from Myeongdong. At the top you'll find the observatory plus restaurants, cafes, and railings covered in 'love padlocks' — couples write their names, lock them on, and toss the key, a beloved tradition here.
It's especially beautiful at night, when the tower itself lights up and the observatory reveals the Han River and endless city lights. Prefer to walk? Trails through Namsan Park lead up, and the Namsan circular bus is another easy option.
